We purchased Ocean House, formerly known as “Backshore Paradise,” in the fall of 2016. It was a long time dream of ours to own a cottage on Peaks Island and we were delighted to take on the task of bringing this older house, subjected to some harsh storms on the Backshore of Peaks, back to life.
We uncovered a number of areas that needed some TLC as we began doing a few updates that turned into many updates. While it has been a whirlwind introduction to island living and homeownership, we’ve enjoyed seeing the house come back to life and are delighted to share it with others. We hope those of you who have been visiting this cottage over the years will enjoy these changes, too.
We have recently completed the process of fully winterizing the house this year so Ocean House can be enjoyed for get-aways year-round. We also have a long-awaited big renovation beginning this fall; more details to come!

-Must take a ferry or water taxi from Portland to get to the island, but there are car ferries to transport your car (check the Casco Bay Lines schedule for details)
-Linens, blankets, pillows, and towels are provided and professionally cleaned between visits
